What's it like to be part of the Snowbirds Team?
by Comox MFRC staff
An audience of 106 youth and parents were enthralled by four members of the elite flying demonstration team, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds on 20 April, 2010.

The event was an interactive meet and greet. The Snowbirds shared stories, answered questions, signed autographs and discussed how each Snowbirds team member is vital to the success of every performance, from start to finish. As role models for many aspiring young aviation enthusiasts, the Snowbirds emphasised that it takes the entire crew, from the ground to the air, to perform as intensely as they do. They performed twice a day, six days a week during their annual three-week stay in the Comox Valley.
The Snowbirds gave great advice about accomplishing goals and how courage, passion, drive and commitment can lead to great success. While the presentation focused what it feels like to be a part of the Snowbirds team, the shining message for the youth attending was that, big or small, dreams are achievable.
This was the Comox Military Family Resource Centre's (MFRC) third annual event with the Snowbirds. On behalf of all the Comox MFRC staff, volunteers and especially the families who attended, we extend our sincerest thanks to the Snowbirds for taking the time to visit with us, and for providing such a great opportunity for learning and inspiration. With our eyes to the sky, we look forward to seeing you all next year!
