Scholarships and Bursaries

Georgian College Operation Hero Scholarship will provide members of Canadian military families with the opportunity to receive a scholarship to assist in the funding of their education at Georgian College. Military family members of the Canadian Forces entering any full or part-time post secondary program at Georgian College are eligible for this scholarship. Preference will be given to family members of those currently posted at CFB Borden, Meaford and the Grey and Simcoe Forresters. For more information, please visit www.operationhero.ca.


The Canadian Hero Fund, an external third party organization, provides post secondary scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen Canadian soldiers.  Scholarships awarded by the Fund help finance post-secondary education at government-accredited universities, colleges and technical schools.  Applications for the 2010-2011 academic year are currently being accepted.  For more information, please visit http://www.herofund.ca/about/ourmission.php.


St. Lawrence College is joining colleges and universities from across Canada in support of Project Hero, a scholarship program created for the families of fallen Canadian soldiers. The new award will be available to one St. Lawrence College applicant each year beginning September 2010. It will cover the cost of six semesters of tuition for a full-time program. Candidates must be under 26 years of age and entering the first year of any diploma program to be eligible. Saskatchewan Scholarship of Honour
The Scholarship of Honour was established in March 2009 to recognize Saskatchewan men and women serving in the Canadian Forces.  The value of the scholarship is $5,000.  For more information  on this scholarship, please visit www.student-loans.sk.ca or call toll free 1-800-597-8278.


Algonquin College – Military Families Sens Foundation Bursary 
Applications for the Military Families Sens Foundation Bursary are currently being accepted for the 2011-2012 school year. The deadline for applications is September 17, 2011.  The Foundation is hoping to disburse between 15-20 bursaries.
